It's Monday (and still COLD)!!

Last Night I finished up my METALiferous ATCs for the Lost Art Creations Swap.  TERRIE---They were wisk away by my HANDSOME mailman this morning...hope they zoom to you!!  I recently recieved my first WONDERFUL order of Metal goodies/supplies from Tensecondsstudio.  I'm really enjoying their products.  I've worked with some other metals in the past ...but just LOVE theirs ~ so easy to work with and the TOOLS and DVD are FABULOUS (can't wait to order more WHEELS!!)  Anyway...I used the Metal Tape Sheet to cover my ATCs...then the Tim Holtz Texture hammer...and then alcohol inks (used currant and bright pink...but the scans and photos--hard to take by the way--look purple).  Then added Lost Art Creations images, trims, etc.  Used the Appletini Green Metal and a metal piece from LAC to make the leaves for my flowers. Finished off with Stickles.

SOOOOO COLD!!

Southeast Texas is not feeling like Southeast Texas right now!!  BRRRRRRR  It's COLD!!  I cooked some Chicken Tortellini soup and trying not to think about my frozen feet!!  LOL 

Today I made some crayon papers :)

 

I also had a GREAT mail day!!

My friend Penny sent me some goodies...One of her Digital Stamp CDs (you can check out Penny's fabulous website and see her BEAUTIFUL digital stamp and other goodies.... http://pennyduncancreations.com/).  Some papers hinges.  She also sent me a cartridge for my Cricut and a BEAUTIFUL card.

I am so THRILLED with this kit.   12 pieces of Graphic45 papers which are so pretty and double sided (and I have really been wanting to order some cause I can't get them around here), Groovy Dress form blank, a little pod of Claudine Hellmuth's paint, snipplets oftrims & ribbons and a group of Tim Holtz Goodies and fragments.  THANKS AGAIN ALLIE!!

 
 

Angie's ARTFul Creations Thursday

Hello everyone...Here it is...the first posting of  ~~~ Angie's ARTful Creations. I was asked by Jeri Aaron, list owner of An Affair With ART to consider doing this weekly feature of my ART.   I must admit that when Jeri asked me to do this feature I almost said no.  But decided to dive in and do it.  I have gotten to where I doubt myself when it comes to my ART, I often turn down opportunities due to fear or the fact that I'm so often just tired.  I have tons of supplies that I just had to have and then find myself hoarding them....I also see ideas that I really want to try...I write myself a note or save the site to my favorites for one day...and then never get to them again.  Well doing this feature every Thursday is my chance to use those ideas, use those supplies, tell my doubts and fears to be quiet and just MAKE SOME ART to MAKE SOME ART and have some time for myself.  With three kids, an always busy life, looming deadlines....It's time to remind myself...that I make ART because I ENJOY what I do.  Soooo Here is what I made (you can click on each image to see it larger)....

 

 
   
 

It's a Pocket tag book.  I've seen these on various site and youtube and really really wanted to make one!!  I used 4 toilet paper rolls covered them with my favorite floral wrapping paper. I did use a bone folder and press them under a heavy book over night to get them as flat as possible. Punched two holes in the left side and added eyelets.   I cut down 4 tags to fit in the pockets and covered them with pretty cardstock and added saying stickers, rhinestones. rick rack and ribbons.  For each pocket I used images, flowers, stickles, clear pebbles, rick rack, and word tickets to ART them up.  I put the tags in the pockets and put the pockets on binding rings...then tied a variety of ribbons and tulle on the rings. 

 

I love the idea of these...we do not have a good recycling program and every little bit helps.

I have the BEST FRIENDS!!

Ok...I'm always telling everyone how I have the most FABULOUS FRIENDS...but this week has been FULL of SURPRISES from me friends!!  I am so BLESSED to have the friends that I do ... but already knew that!!!

I have many online ART Friends that go way beyond ART Friends and have become actual TRUE FRIENDS...we've known each other for over 10 years and some of us have even gotten together etc.  We also have some WONDERFUL new friends that have joined our circle of friends more recentlyy.  We love to send packages and share things with each other. 

Well, Wednesday evening the mailman comes to the door with a big and pretty heavy package...on it is a note to Sam to not let me open it until he has a camera.  and it's from the ARTHaven Angels (so knew who was responsible. So the phone rings and it's my friend, Penny asking if the kids are here...she says get them to take a picture and go ahead and open it.  I thought what on earth...but would have never guessed that the surprise inside was a CRICUT!!!!!!  Just unbelieveable...THANKS AGAIN to you all.  But they won't say who all was involved in this surprise LOL  I have figured out that Penny and Tami were certainly involved!  Wish someone would spill the beans so I can thank each and everyone that arranged this unbelieveable surprise.  Now I hope I don't disappoint all of my friends that think I must enter the computer age of crafting.

oh and Thursday my friend Shirley Nagel sent me some Adorable wings for beaded charms...I'm just tickled and can't wait to put some beads with them and make some charms.

Then Today Brynna gets a package from the my friend Shelly  ...who she recently decided she'd call her "other Aunt Shelly".  Shelly sent her some adorable Heart shaped crayons, a star shaped post it pad, a candy bar....what more could a little lady want??  Well she also sent her a ZHU ZHU Hamster!!!  She is one tickled little girl.  THANKS AGAIN Shelly!!

 
 
 The FUN that Brynna and I had with these packages is exactly why I LOVE to send SURPRISE packages...what a THRILL to get a TOTAL SURPRISE Package!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my FRIENDS...I hope you will all have a WONDERFUL 2010!!

WOW...I sure lost track during the Holidays...we have been SUPER SUPER BUSY.  With Christmas, The arrival of our new Nephew Cole, and then New Year's.  Now we are back to the usual.  Sam is at work and Brandi is at Soccer and they return to school on MOnday...so will make tomorrow a regular Sunday of getting ready for school etc.
