What a FUN event this is....making friends through ART is always WONDERFUL!!   If you've not heard about this event....

  A woman named Lisa Swifka is the host of this worldwide blogging event that is taking place January 19-February 12. Here's what Lisa has to say about One World-One Heart:

So Here is my first prize....

A knit mixed media wall hanging.  This piece measures 12 inches high with the hanger.  Knit with a beautiful Handspun ART yarn by Linda Koch.  The bird in the center is an image from Lost Art Creations, which I made into a gel transfer and mounted on a vintage sheet music background.

A Bamboo Tile Bookthong (yes, if you know me you aren't surprised...I'm totally addicted to making these!!!)  The Adorable image is from Paper Imagery Designs and I've made it into a gel transfer also.

Yes, I am still alive LOL

I've been ARTing, Knitting and crocheting here and there.  Here's some of it....

I've also been working on my "pieces" for the 14 days of Valentine's swap (YEAH---they shipped yesterday) so can't share those yet....and my pieces for the One World One Heart event....the first piece is almost done...so hope to get those posted this weekend for the give away.  I've also learned of a local charity to knit and crochet for...so hope to get started on that too.  Now....I have a little one itching to get outside in our beautiful weather...so we are headed outside for now.  :)  Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!!

Sure don't seem to be getting much done daily....

or ARTwise.  I did get another necklace finished last night and all my recent heart necklaces listed in my ETSY SHOP.  

     

Today I caught up and finally got some lotteries, and mingles sent out...I was a bit behind.  Decided to make recycled calendar page envelopes.  Making envelopes was one of my first Paper ARTs to be interested in....just don't take a lot of time to make them anymore.  I'm lazy now and use a purchased template.  But here's a WONDERFUL tutorial by my friend Shelly (who I just happened to meet in an envelope making group about 12 years ago).  SHELLY's Envelope Tutorial

I've been doing little things here and there fabric yo-yos, making plarn (plastic bag yarn)

 

and felting hearts with a wonderful fiber batt from  Linda Koch.  Had big plans and was going to finish them all up and work on a project I had in mind....until I went through my finger with the felting needle....which slowed me up a tad LOL  But it's better now.

   

and here's the latest addition to our family, Blaire.  She's a mixed breed and 2 months old today.

A good ole lazy day....

Totally didn't do anything I planned today.  LOL  I should have been crafting...working on the ART I need to get done for swaps with looming due dates and/or updated my poor ETSY shop by listing all the new art and stuff I need to list.  But what I ended up doing was playing a big part of the day on Facebook.  After many friend requests I decided to go ahead and join.  So much more fun than myspace and twitter.  Brynna and I spent some time outside in the (much needed) SUN!!!!  Then I spent some time ripping up the ugliest fabric I've ever seen and started a crocheted bag with it.  Some fabric just looks better crocheted.  When my Mom pulled this out and offered it to be the other day...I said "OHHHHH that's the ugliest fabric I've ever seen, I want it!!"  HEE HEE

 

 

Now off to sit, relax and crochet for the rest of the night :O) 

Ah Nuts!! Vacation is almost over ....

Well tomorrow is back to work, back to school and back to a "normal" routine.  BOO!  Glad to get some routine back but sad to see the leisure time go.

Today I spent the day playing with beads and wire...handmade paper by my friend, Chrystal and these fun heart clips from Lost Art Creations.  The first 3 have images from Lost Art Creations and the 4th has an adorable image from   Paper Imagery Designs.  Plus other misc. goodies to make the collages.  I also used recycled chain from my jewelry stash.  I love giving discarded jewelry a chance to shine once again.

    

   

    

   

I hope to get them all listed in my ETSY Shop on Monday.

Ahhhhh a New Year!!

I love New Years.  I seem to pull it all together or just give up on it and start fresh...I feel so "with it"  LOL  yeah, right!! 

I've actually been working in the ART room....and enjoying time with the family....and was about to run off and play and figured I'd better post and let you all know I'm still kicking.  Just lots to do and really enjoying Sam being off for a long weekend.

Yesterday morning I finished up this bamboo tile, bead crochet choker. 

 

yesterday night I finished this ATC for the Artchix yahoo group New Year's Resolution Lottery.  I don't make resolutions.  But thought I'd use this text ...words I try to live by.

 

I've got four more little projects under way that I hope to finish up today.  :)

Yesterday was a FABULOUS mail day!!  I recieved the goodies that I spent my Christmas $$ on.  A spindle from http://GreenBeeGoods.etsy.com  Feels really nice...nice weight and sturdy.  Happy with my purchase.

 

Then I order a few fibers..YUM!!
