LOL I've unpacked everything and put it away, cleaned the house thoroughly, caught up on laundry, etc. The yard is still upside down crazy and our house is still under construction and the kids are home from school for one more day....but as normal as we can get it right now.
Being at the lake in one cabin with 4 families was an "Adventure". But we did have some fun. Like the little ones getting to go fishing with their Dad's ...
occassionally the little ones slowed down enough for some down time....
When we went into town (Jasper TX 45 mins from the cabin) I bought a few supplies...glue sticks, a pad of scrapbooking paper, some double sided tape, and a box of envelopes (that were sealed together and had to be steamed open ARGH and then looked terrible)......to go with my Paper Imagery Designs images that I had packed and brought with me. I managed to make and send only 5 cards to friends....So here is my studio away from studio ROFL A little different than what I'm use to!!!!
Here's the card I sent to my friend, Penny. She was a doll and scanned it for me when it got to her. :) Don't giggle....I was working with just the basics!! lol
We are so happy that we have very little damage. We lost our entire freezer full of food we expected we would ....most of it I couldn't care less about....the fact that we lost all our garden vegetables just kills me. We also lost our garden and most of our banana plants. The yard is a disaster and looks terrible. Doesn't look like our backyard. Loosing the bell pepper plants (OK Bushes) just aggrivates me. They were 2 years old and even produced in the winter. :(
We have no idea where the tin came from LOL Not ours.
Back garden is flattened. Looks like we still have 4 good size banana plants still standing. Yes we turned the trampoline upside down in hopes that it'd still be in nice shape and actually still in our yard LOL
We were worried we'd not get our meter box and wires fixed before they restored our power...but we did...thank goodness!! Sam and my Uncle Charlie did a wonderful job of putting it all back together and replacing the weatherhead.
and here's a fun picture that I wanted to share. The girls were playing the night before they decided to call evacuation and these pictures were on the camera. Brynna was wearing Brandi's Soccer Sweetshirt from last season LOL....(they are 12 years apart) :)
and OH LOOK....you can see our shiney new generator in the background. At that point Ike was headed down the coast and we were to expect some rain and maybe a few days without power LOL
That's it for now. I'm off to stand in my studio and see if some inspiration will hit me. :oD
