Where I've been....

....I've been around.  I'm way behind on email...I'll catch up soon...I hope. 

This weekend was Sam's long weekend....we decided to spend it on our garden.  Friday Sam found this neat moth...I'd never seen one before.  It's a Giant Leopard moth...they live on banana plants LOL.  I think it's BEAUTIFUL (I'm a cow print nut...well I love most black and white patterns!!!)

and I've been spending a good amount of time tweaking the studio again.  It had gotten out of hand, again.  I added a new shelf that was the inside of a discarded roll top desk, I turn it upside down and Sam hung it in my main work area....I put my favorite paints, inks and pearl ex on it..... I LOVE IT!!!  It holds a lot more than the 2 x 2s that were there.  So hopefully I'll be able to create a little more effectively for a while.  I've updated my Studio Photo Album.  Also on the right----->

I've been doing a good deal of knitting and reading.  My latest ART is two more wire crochet necklaces.... 

and this 3~2~1 set for a swap....These go to my friend, Sandee....who has just recently moved into her new home.

and a little "Hello" card for our friend's daughter, Taylor.   She's 8.... her Mom was telling me that she'd waited and waited for return mail after sending out birthday thank you cards to her friends and didn't understand why she'd not recieved an answer.  Such a sweetie....so anyway thought she could use a surpise in the mailbox.  :)

 

Wonderful Weekend!!

Saturday I made some ART for friends....

I only finished these two pieces....but I got others started, organized all my handspun yarn and did some knitting.  Plus the usual housework and played outside with the kids.

Today we went to Village Creek  .... we had a WONDERFUL time.  Just wish I wasn't totally burned to a crisp....OUCH!!!  We caught several fish...Sam caught 3 and Michelle (my sister) caught 1 Bass that were keepers.  Mine and Travis (our BIL) were all too small :O(  lol  But still fun.  and it was a BEAUTIFUL day!  Here's a few (I took 87 lol) pictures from where we went today (remember you can click on them to make them larger)

Wire Crochet....toooo tooo FUN!!!!

OK Maybe I've had too much coffee this morning....maybe it's the first time our toddler has slept in in a while...who knows.  But I am having FUN this morning.  My friend Shelly shared a wire crochet necklace technique with me a while back...and ever since I have been hunting 26 gauge wire.  Of course none to be found here in Mayberry...finally found some in Beaumont this week though.  WOO HOOOOOOO  So I just whipped up my first wire crochet necklace...I kid you not...it took just a matter of minutes!!  For this one I used green mop shell chips, mop shell pieces and copper wire.  TOO FUN!  Not the best picture...inside...too early for a natural light photo---ok maybe not, but not ready to get out of my jammies just yet LOL.  (Don't forget you can click on the photo to see the picture bigger)

DeSTASHing....

I spent the day cleaning out,  knitting, reading (Franklin and Eek a Monster  lol), and playing outside with our little lady...She We just needed some sandbox and sun time.  This evening I have listed 8 paper lots and 2 wonderful little books.  So check out my ETSY Shop if you'd like.  Now I'm off to wrap up my day with coffee and oreos!!  :O)  Hope to list more detashing tomorrow.

Catching up on catching up---AGAIN

It's been a busy week.  I've updated my ETSY Shop.  and made a few little ART pieces here and there....

I made this Birthday card for my Grandmaw...

I used Beautiful handmade paper from Chrystal as the background for this card. 

and beaded this Bracelet for my friend Mary to wear with the necklace I made her for her daughter's wedding. 

oh yes....Brandi got her hair trim....it was finally long enough to get straighten out from the "great Pepper chopping of 2007"  (she let her friend Pepper do her hair .... as well it was ummmmm let's see...not quiet the same)  LOL :O)  We love Pepper...she's just no longer allowed to touch hair LOL

Yesterday was Sam's day off ----he went fishing early and then we had a nice day shopping....hit a nice yarn sale!!  HEE HEE

Nice Saturday....

It's been a nice day......played with paper and then did some crocheting.

and these 1x1 (Inchies) just for FUN!!

I crocheted this little sponge to go with the knitted sponge and knitted wash cloth set I made for my Grandmaw's birthday.  She'll be 86 and says there's nothing she needs....so I made her something she may just enjoy using :O)  The sponges are a bit wonky...but hey they are for doing dishes and she loves my homemade gifts.  She still takes out the poem I wrote her every year (that she has framed) called "My Maw Maw's Thanksgiving Dinner."  ROFL
