Here's a little antique Doll Pin I made yesterday. Some of my favorite handspun yarn from Linda Koch and a Frozen Charlotte doll from Paper Imagery Designs. Just something I did because I wanted to work with this beautiful little doll that I've been staring at for a while now LOL
and I've been crocheting and beading necklaces for a customer on ETSY that requested necklaces for 4 charms I had listed. She wanted them with coordinating handspun yarn and beads similar to one I had listed...made with handspun yarn (from Linda Koch my favorite Spinstress). So here is the original necklace (hope) and the 4 I just finished.
I know I have told some of my online friends, but not sure if I mentioned it here. We were adopted by a young, brave cat....what I mean is she just walks in through the doggy door whenever she likes...she could care less that we have a pretty large overly friendly dog. LOL Kept hoping she'd find a home somewhere else...but guess here is where she likes....guess I was in denial not really wanting pets again and poof now we have a dog and a cat that stops by whenever she likes. Well yesterday she was acting a bit strange and I noticed her having contractions last night.....sure enough she had 4 tiny babies in our bedroom last night...all seem healthy and of course adorable! So we got to bed a bit later than usual. So we'll be getting her fixed and keeping her I guess :)
This morning we got up and headed to Chester Texas for an Archery Shoot...Stick Bow Roundup. 40 targets to shoot on a trail...some are pretty silly (the rest are bears, dear, etc.). Here were the fun ones...a baboon, a flying fish and a BIG Texas Mosquito.
oh yeah...the alligator...
This was Brynna's first year to shoot. Everyone was just amazed to see a 4 year old shooting.
She had a good time.
just a great day
A few days ago I made this ATC for the Paper Imagery Designs yahoo group monthly PID ATC JACKPOT, Script.
have also crocheted some more...but no pictures yet....soon.
Here is the card I made for my Mom (don't know why the bottom right corner scanned wavy..it's not but tried several times...scanned that way everytime...strange)
We've had a very busy weekend....it's Sam's long weekend. Friday we worked on the garden all day then went and bought our plants. Saturday we worked on the garden a little, then packed for a trip to the beach, went to Brandi's last Spring Season Soccer game, then headed to the beach for a few hours of play and a cookout, then headed home. This morning My Mom and Sister & family came over (they've all headed to my Grandmaw's for a BBQ) we've spent the rest of the day working on the garden. Now we are inside taking a break because it's so darn HOT LOL We'll head back out in a little bit. It's certainly been a FUN and FULL weekend!
Brandi's first time to Kayak...she did really well.
It was the first time we've been through Sabine Pass or to the beach since Hurricane Ike. The change it just overwhelming. It was a bit emotional. Most of the homes left in Sabine Pass are just shells...
and there is no longer a road to the beach...you have to turn onto the beach and drive down the beach. There is a lot more beach sand wise...but lots of debris were the road was, and now tide pools on the beach that weren't there before.
(Please don't copy pictures from my blog...thanks!)
Made these Rick Rack Blossoms this morning. Of all the TONS of Rick Rack I have...I only have white, fuzzy yellow and fuzzy red Jumbo. :O( So used white. Decided to make it my own and add a fabric yo-yo. Then I tried it with some large and came up with the two smaller ones that I will use as embellishments on something when the mood strikes, the larger ones are for some special mother's on mother's day. I got the idea from this online tutorial.
I've been crocheting while picking up kids, watching tv, etc. Little time fillers. More crocheted swiffer covers....when my sister saw mine work she went and bought a swiffer (she'd gotten rid of hers because she didn't like the clothes) so these are for her.
and a spiral Scrubbie....actually this is the third one...but they all look the same. LOVE the one I'm using so soft and really cleans (even the scrambled egg pan). :) They are a good size too about 4 inches wide and pretty thick.
Then started this scarf....that I'm just not sure about. The pattern is from Pop Goes Crochet by Vickie Howell. The pattern is great... but since when do I stick to the pattern lol calls for a medium worsted...I decided to try it with this colorful sparkley mohair......ehhhhhh just can't decide if I like it or not. Put it away because I just did not like it....but now that I've looked at it a lot I just can't decide.
