Thanks so much to my Dear Friend, Diann, for giving me the Karma Award...
The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers.
Deliver this award to 5 -8 and include this cleverly-written text in the body of their award.
I wish to pass this award on to some of my Wonderful Blogger Friends....
We had a FUN weekend. Saturday was Brandi's soccer game...another WIN for our team!!! YEAH
It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY!! (could have been a little less windy though lol)
Sat. night I put together a charm bracelet with the charms that I recieved from the Lost Art Creations Charm Swap. What a FUN Swap this was!! The one that says Sunny is the one I made and kept for myself.
Sunday we did a little work outside. and I started a crocheted Rag Rug. Which I am just hooked on. I love to crochet with fabric. So Far it's 17 inches wide...so still a ways to go.
This morning I made an ATC and TAG and posted the Paper Imagery Designs Weekly Challenge...TAGS!!
Yesterday, Brynna and I spent going to her hair appointment, shopping and planting flowers.
Brynna asked to get her hair cut...it's pretty wild and wavy. Fine with me...considering you brush it and can't tell a few minutes later LOL Her hair is a challenge...especially since she doesn't care for barrettes or pony tails.
so here are some pictures (though it was pretty bright and windy...maybe I should have taken indoor pictures)
and the after....
Then last night we had family pizza night .... was fun. My Mom, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Mike, Sister, BIL, Nephew all came over. We all played scrath off bingo...Sam and I don't play or buy lottery tickets but my Mom occasionally does....she one $50 on one this week. LOL Brynna won $1, Aunt Bonnie $15, Uncle mike $5 and Sam $3. LOL Then we played Apples to Apples...what a FUN game. Aunt Bonnie had shoulder surgery Tuesday morning...she is doing WONDERFUL and healing quickly!! Today we'll all be going to Brandi's soccer game!!
and you know what...here are pictures of our older kids too. I haven't shared personal photos often because I've had trouble with someone copying pictures off my blog ( long story). But darn it, I should be able to share our beautiful children with my ART friends so I am. Lifes too short, I just hope our wishes will be honored and images will not be printed from my blog again.
and Braydon (14)
Then this morning....I made these pieces with recycled plastic cards. and I added the tutorial for making them to the Paper Imagery Designs Blog if you'd like to check it out.
Another FULL day. Did the usual housework, etc. Did some more work outside. Repurposed these containers for my Mom. She'd given them to me a while back and asked me to put roosters on them to go in her kitchen, she likes them for her cream and sugar .... just wanted them too look nicer. So the other day when I was at wal-mart I saw these RUB ons. WOOO HOOO....that'll be easy. Forgetting how very much I can't stand rub ons (almost as much as painting!!). LOL So the first one went fine, and the second was going good and eeks the tail feathers crumbled and broke. GRRRRR So ended up having to do a touch up paint job. I was so unhappy with it that I turned it around and did another rub on. Then I made labels for them. GRRRRR
Also since yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day we took the little ones to the water park. Didn't stay very long because the wind was so strong it sure took away from the FUN. Didn't seem that windy here...even when we came back and played in the backyard instead. Oh well, lots of summer to come...so well go back again soon. Maybe I'll get some better pictures next time too LOL
I finished these for Brynna's Barbie's....A Cake and a cherry pie. The rest of the day, we've done yardwork. Taking a break and then heading out to do more yard work...feel my excitement!! lol It does look much better though :)
I'd like to say I've done lots of things to celebrate Earth Day....not sure if yard work, dividing and planting plants counts much. But we try to make a Green Effort everyday....so I guess that helps :) HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Yesterday I was cleaning of my work table in the studio. I grabbed a wire spool and threw it in the trash ... as it hit the can the idea for a Barbie table popped into my head. Our 4 year old recently discovered Barbies and have several barbies and a car and a few outfits, but not accessories. So had her pick a fabric and made her this table from a wire spool and can lid (cut with the safety can opener of course).
Then she said they needed some food for their table....so I whipped up this pizza with a cinnamon roll icing lid and some felt scraps...
then of course she wanted them to be able to have some pizza so I made these pieces with chipboard and felt scraps....and plates from flattened bottle caps and circles punched from a used greeting card. Brynna helped and made the piece on the left.
This was FUN and we'll be making some more things for her Barbies soon. Next on the menu cake and cherry pie. :O) I saved a dvr'd episode of Creative Juice where they made these things and just hadn't gotten it done yet.
Then last night I made this ATC for the paper imagery designs April ATC Jackpot....Keys
Our weekend just FLEW BY. We had a nice quiet weekend with the kids all here...minus the storm Saturday night. Brandi had planned to go to her friends for the weekend...but plans were canceled due to the weather. So she and Brynna spent two days watching Peter Pan...lost track of how many times. Now Brynna thinks she can fly. lol Last night we added Neverland and Tinkerbell to our DVD Collection...so they'll be busy a while I'm sure. Saturday night Sam and I watched the Astros and caught up on some of our DVR'd shows. GREAT GAME WOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!! While watching I crocheted this set...another swiffer cover and a sponge (will be going out as a surprise package for a friend on mine) and another sponge. I just love having a basket of quick/simple things to work on while "watching" tv with the family. Sunday we did some work around the house and I package up lots of mail to send. So now back to the weekly stuff....I'm already ready for Wed. Sam's next day off LOL
Oh yeah and Sam made a Toothbrush rug tool for me...a new (to me) craft I found online this weekend and hope to start soon. My Man is such a treasure.
We aren't the GREENEST family in the world...but we are trying to reuse, recycle, and reduce as much as we can. We compost, garden, recycle, reuse, etc. Just something we think is so important. My sister and I run to the large recycling bins in Beaumont atleast twice a month. On our last trip we were upset and shocked to find signs saying that April 30th is the last day ...the bins will be removed and our recycling program will be gone. GRRRR Here's the article After getting into a routine of recycling ... how can we start throwing these things away again?? YIKES!! So crossing our fingers and hoping that something can be done to save our recycling program!! I am still collecting our recycleables right now and will make one more trip before the bins are removed.
and I will still make attempts to reuse and reduce and recycle what I can.
I've been making envelopes for years. Here are some bear envelopes to send out some pieces I need to send. My Relatives often give me their old calendars to reuse. These are from my Aunt Bonnie's Bear calendar and My Mom's Scenic calender (used as the inside...so people didn't have to read about IKE evacuation dates and doctor appointments LOL)
I love making small ART and these charms are just so much FUN! My husband is a sweetie and cuts the tiny roofs for me. These little houses are made from scrabble tiles. I made 20 all together...told you they are FUN! I will be listing them in my my ETSY Shop soon. I used my absolute favorite paper by My Friend Chrystal on a lot of them. Chrystal makes the most WONDERFUL handmade paper...you can see it (and get some) in her ETSY Shop. YUM!! These charms lead me to tweak my studio a little...I'll share below :)
and for these I used images from Top Hat Designs (sadly this company is closed)
Ok I mentioned I LOVE my friend, Chrystal's paper...well here is my stash...it was getting harder and harder to make myself dig through and use them in this drawer (besides the fact that they are so beautiful I feel the need to hoard them)
so I reorganized them and put them on the letter trays that sit on my work area and hold my current ART and most often used items. MUCH BETTER!!
