Beautiful day in Chester Texas!

Each year we go to Chester Texas for Stickbow Roundup (archery shoot).  I love the fact that it is held in this little town (pop. 265) because my ancestors on my Dad's side were from this town.  It's a BEAUTIFUL little town.  We always stop at a pretty little rest stop right before Chester....it has a stone walk way down two sides and a stone "pond" at the bottom...with neat old turnstiles to enter this area.  Every year we stop here to eat breakfast (and other trips family tree hunting) and every time I take pictures :O)  I just think it's BEAUTIFUL!

and it was a pretty pretty day for the Archery Shoot.....fabulous weather.

it was a long long day with lots of walking though and it was pretty "warm"  :O)  but who can resist coolers with tiny paper cups...certainly not the toddlers that drank more today than I do in a week.  ROFL

Been knitting .....

beading, needle felting, etc.  Made these wallhangings with the beautiful handspun yarn I got from Linda Koch.  Such BEAUTIFUL yarn...I wanted to make something with it that really showed off all the colors.

Lazy Rainy Monday

After the busy weekend I'm enjoying the rest of a lazy rainy day!  The weather was BEAUTIFUL for Riverfest.  We were there Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday.  We had a pretty good time...but we were worn out!  lol

Today was Sam's day off and we enjoyed doing very little and resting.  I've done housework, or course, and some more destashing in the craft room.  I've listed lots of ARTChix images, Transparencies, and (discontinued) Fabric Images in my ETSY Shop.  More lots to come as I go through them....I've got a stash of Top Hat Embellishments to list, a big stash of buttons and lots more images yet to go through

Here are a few pictures my sister took this weekend (I, as usual, forgot my camera)....

Sam, Brynna and Me eating snow cones waiting on the boat races to resume.  This is the BEST picture of ME I've seen in a long time LOL!!!

100_2265

Brynna and our nephew, Anthony, having a good time on the rocket.  LOL  Think they had more fun at the park than the festival.

Brandi, Anthony and our BIL, Travis on the Dizzy Dragons.  Poor Brynna...this was all she could talk about...and then changed her mind.  Maybe next year.  :o)

HAPPY HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Been busy busy here.  It's the weekend of our town's yearly Spring Festival....RIVERFEST!!  We attend every year....there are booths, rides, entertainment, boat races, fireworks, etc.  We've gone Thur. and Fri night and had fun so far.  Could not believe that Brynna (our 3 yr old) went up the giant slide with Sam and she had a blast, walked up it her self and slide down (rather quickly)...I was so afraid she was going to freeze up LOL  The big kids are of course riding all the big rides (the kind that make me dizzy just watching)...the have passes to ride all they want.  So if I'm MIA this weekend  you know where I am.

Yesterday I managed to finish a Song to Remember spread for Peggy.  Each page is 8x8 and I decided on Somewhere over the Rainbow.  I just love this song and always have.  My scanner would not scan these pages...not sure if it's the metallic foil or the dimension of the fibers...so had to take digital photos.  You can click on the images to see them bigger.

so that's all the ART I have to share.

But I do want to send out a warning!!

Tuesday morning I woke up to a nightmare...well unfortunately ...actually it was reality. Someone hacked my paypal account.  $197 to Smartdraw.com and $199.99 to MegaUpload Limited.  So all day Tuesday and most of this week I've been dealing with this...stop payments, contacting the companies, dealing with paypal, etc.  The payment to Smartdraw was still pending and when I contacted them they instantly canceled the purchase and gave me all the information (they used my name, my paypal account name and a different email address--though probably bogess) they had. WHAT A MESS!!  But paypal has been most helpful and as of right now it looks like everything is straightened out.  I've had my account since 2000 with no problems until now.  So I've ordered the Security Key that paypal offers...hope it gets here soon.  I'm a little on edge and watching my account constantly.

Where I've been....

....I've been around.  I'm way behind on email...I'll catch up soon...I hope.

This weekend was Sam's long weekend....we decided to spend it on our garden.  Friday Sam found this neat moth...I'd never seen one before.  It's a Giant Leopard moth...they live on banana plants LOL.  I think it's BEAUTIFUL (I'm a cow print nut...well I love most black and white patterns!!!)

I've uploaded garden pictures in a photo album to the right------->

and I've been spending a good amount of time tweaking the studio again.  It had gotten out of hand, again.  I added a new shelf that was the inside of a discarded roll top desk, I turn it upside down and Sam hung it in my main work area....I put my favorite paints, inks and pearl ex on it..... I LOVE IT!!!  It holds a lot more than the 2 x 2s that were there.  So hopefully I'll be able to create a little more effectively for a while.  I've updated my Studio Photo Album.  Also on the right----->

I've been doing a good deal of knitting and reading.  My latest ART is two more wire crochet necklaces....  Springapril08_070 Springapril08_071

and this 3~2~1 set for a swap....These go to my friend, Sandee....who has just recently moved into her new home.

and a little "Hello" card for our friend's daughter, Taylor.   She's 8.... her Mom was telling me that she'd waited and waited for return mail after sending out birthday thank you cards to her friends and didn't understand why she'd not recieved an answer.  Such a sweetie....so anyway thought she could use a surpise in the mailbox.  :)
